In February 2010 I published a recipe for a tasty chicken marinade. This one is in my opinion, an improvement on the last one. This recipe makes sufficient to marinade an entire chicken that has been cut into pieces.
Ingredients
- ½ cup plain yogurt
- 1 large onion (peeled and chopped)
- ½ cup fresh cream
- 1 teaspoon coriander (cilantro)
- 1 tablespoon maizena (maize starch)
- 2 teaspoons turmeric
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon garlic flakes
- 1 tablespoon chutney
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Method
Mix all the ingredients and pour over chicken pieces that have been placed in an oven dish. Refrigerate and let stand overnight. Bake for 2 hours at 180C. Do not cover the chicken during baking.
Happy eating!

Looks simple and easy to make. I’m sure I can make it for BBQ too. Thanks for another easy recipe. Hope you have a nice day. Mary
@Mary – Thanks. The marinade works very well if the meat is barbecued.
MaryMoh introduced me to your blog. You have a great blog with lovely clicks! This chicken dish looks gorgeous. Think I’ll give it a shot but perhaps minus the fresh cream.
@Cheah -welcome to Ba-Bootie. If you are watching your calorie intake, the marinade works equally well without the fresh cream.
